Our Story
Here at the Tennessee HIV Modernization Coalition (THMC), we're committed to investing our expertise and resources to further achieve our cause. THMC knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by but, most notably, through the actions of our initiatives. In 2000, our Non-Profit Organization realized that by working together, we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, which is why we ultimately decided to launch TN HIV Modernization Coalition.
Since then, we have supported our community members in various ways and worked to introduce modern legislation within Tennessee. We gauge success through the effectiveness of our efforts and the lasting impacts of our programs.
Our Goals
Our mission is to modern Tennessee’s criminal laws surrounding HIV and strengthen the relationships between HIV-positive individuals and the community. We do this through:
Educating residents of Tennessee as well as elected and appointed officials about HIV and the effects of laws regarding HIV-positive communities.
Facilitating opportunities for persons who are HIV-positive to share their stories and experiences under the current laws.
